My Holiday Look | Papillon Magazine

Hello Cuties~

     If you read my last post or happen to follow any of the Papillon models on social media, you know that the Holiday Lookbook has arrived!  (I'm really begging for this one to make it to print! It's just perfect.)

     I did share my own spread form the magazine in my last post, so here I want to share my favorite shots from my photoshoot.  My sister and I had a lot of fun playing with "locations" and poses.  So I couldn't wait to share more with you all!  I also want to talk a little bit about my makeup in this post as well.

     Here's the makeup look, Babes~  I've been struggling for a while to embrace the "no lens" makeup; but I feel this was my best look without circle lenses.
* close-up *

* Lashes: SugarPill Porcelain, eBay lower lashes

     The models were asked to provide close-up shots for the Gyaru Transformation page.  A great idea by the Papillon team to showcase everyone's makeup before, and after lashes!  And unlike some mean girls, we share our lash deets~ (¬‿¬ )

     Now let's get into the photoshoot!  As I said, my sister and I tried to give different scenery in some shots.  But being that everyone's still in quarantine, and I didn't feel safe photographing in busier areas, we stuck to our neighborhood.  For the limited spots we had, I'm pretty happy with how things turned out!
     A personal fave.  I just love the "catalog vibes" I'm giving (lol).

* Rundown *
Coat - St. John's Bay (thrifted)
Romper - Forever 21
Top - Kuda Moda (eBay)
Boots - Rue 21
Beret - off brand
Gloves - off brand (eBay)

     Y'all, it was pretty warm when I took these photos.  I couldn't handle the coat for long periods of time! xD  But I tried to keep it cute!

"Say Cheese ~"

     Remember back when I said I wanted to get better at posing for pictures?  I think I'm finally in a comfortable positions for photoshoots!  I recall saying squat poses were my favorite but hard to replicate without looking / feeling silly.  It's a concern of the past now!

     There's just something about this picture.  I love how effortless this looks and feels.  I'm just really proud of myself for not stressing and just enjoying myself this time.

     Using my surroundings.  Definitely helps when I need an idea for a pose!  The tree was pretty fun to play around with.

     More catalog Gal shots, plus a Beyoncé moment for ya!

     I wish I could share the entire photoshoot here, but we took about 50 - 60 shots.  It was hard to narrow down my favorites, which is good!  Usually I'm not too satisfied with my work, however I can say both my sister and I deserve a pat on the back.
ヽ(´ー` )┌

     I will share more photos on social media so please check those out if you wish to see more!  (FB | Insta)

Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

      It's the most wonderful time of the year!  The holidays have begun and Papillon has released a new lookbook!  If I might say so myself, this holiday lookbook was a highly anticipated one.  I for sure couldn't wait for the release date.  The wait is now over!  If you haven't already, visit Magazine-Papillon to view the magazine.

     I may sound like a broken record, but this magazine is packed with amazing looks!  Everyone outdid themselves; models, editors, artists and writers, we did superb!  I feel this lookbook was more than just outfits.  Not only did the staff get to put a piece of their personality on page, but a piece of their culture as well.  And I'm so happy to have been a part of this edition.  In this blog post, I want to share some of my favorite spreads.  I hope you enjoy!

We ♥ Lashes!

     Never heard a truer statement!  I looove this page so much!  Who doesn't enjoy a Gyaru transformation?  Did you think so many variations of gyaru makeup existed?  Eyelashes (falsies as I love to say) are arguably the biggest part of gyaru makeup.  So seeing just how much of a difference lashes make on so many unique faces is pretty cool.

     Eri, the butterfly accessories had me sold!  I feel like I might be able to achieve this hairstyle by following the tutorial . . . maybe (lol).  Nonetheless a super cute, staple hairstyle for the Gals~

     Speaking of tutorials, can we talk about how gorgeous Motoko looks?!  A makeup pro!  Her makeup gives me the urge to use bolder colors (but I chicken out every time huhu~).

     The pinkest princess of them all, DD Kyoko!  Oh, I hope to look just as precious as her one day.  Also peep the tiny cutie on the right!

     My sweet Kieli!!!  I was so happy when I saw you!
╰(*´︶`*)╯♥  Also your eyemakeup, to d*e for~ That eye shape is everything!

     Is that a name change I see? 👀  Juupitan, I love it!  And I adore that your mug matches your outfit.  We stan a Gal who's always "on brand"!

     Reila consistently steals my heart~  She has the cutest and most "romantic" style!

     To quote the fabulous Megan :  Real Hot Girl ish right here!  Nene slays every look that she does.  This is the perfect inspiration for a holiday night party!

     Continuing with the Hot Gals, Rachel rocked this Agejo look!

     "Another one!"  Yaya, you blew me away with this look!  From the hair down to heels, fabulous.

A glamorous Kyaba look from Vani!

An unforgettable look from Shiena!

And lastly, my Himekaji look~

     Per usual, I'll post more from my look in a separate post.  It was quite the experience shooting this during the summer heat (lol).  However I'm very happy with how things turned out!  I'm very thankful for Papillon, and I'm glad I had the chance to be a part of another great lookbook.
Until next post!

Word on the J-street | Trends this Winter!

I was sitting around and thought, why not do another
✧Word on the J-Street✧
╭( ・ㅂ・)و ̑̑ ˂ᵒ͜͡ᵏᵎ⁾✩
I've been ogling coats all season, I really want to go back
to the thrift store and find some really nice ones!  I'm still
on the lookout for the perfect oversized denim jacket as well
as a camouflage jacket.

These are just observations I've made from Tokyo Fashion
Statement Pieces:
Long coats + Oversized coats
 There are lots of "stand out" outerwear and coats are the best
way to top off an outfit!  Seeing that a coat has to cover up
most of your coordinate, shouldn't it be as flamboyant rather
than mask the rest?

(P-chan is all grown up ;__;)
And this last photo brings me to the next trend!

Baggy pants
I also noticed plaid seems to be around a lot, I wish I could pull
off plaid pants but ehhhh it only reminds me of grade and high
school ꒰⁎×﹏×⁎꒱՞༘✡ so unflattering ;;
EDIT: the next day, my dad told me he just watched a piece on
TV about Japanese fashion trends and that "baggy pants were in";
how ironic!

In other news (but vaguely related because of winter)
I finally got to see snow!~~~~ Yaaaay! It was only a little but
my heart is happy ♥  I was so excited, I went outside to take
pictures of it still in my pajamas!
But seriously how do you y'all deal with actual snow?
I've slipped on ice for 2 days now, our city can't
function this way lmao

Until next time~
