Papillon Lookbook: 002

Hello Cuties~

I came back to blogger to quite a pleasant surprise!  People must have been eager for Papillon's release because I gained a great deal of traffic / views on my "Proud to be a Papillon Gal" post.  I was truly stunned to see such a number.  I wanted to thank all who gave my post a read and all who viewed the first issue of Papillon magazine!
( ´ ▽ ` ).。o♡

Emotions tangent aside, I'm giddy to share my second lookbook post with you!  I've been holding onto this one for a while now.  (well not as long as the first look but still. . . )  The second look I did for Papillon was my "Ode to hot-girl Summer".  (lol)

I was pretty pleased with how this coordinate turned out!  When the idea came to me, I couldn't wait to take pictures.  I had been wrecking my brain on what my next look would be.  I definitely wanted something different from my Himekaji look.

It's been a while since you have seen me in something like Kurogyaru, for sure!  Plus, in the past I've tried to think of ways in incorporate this super cute tube top.  FINALLY I got the chance.

Location wasn't different from the previous post, but as I mentioned I will change that for the future Papillon issue.  Please anticipate it!  I hope to make you all proud.  I know it's going to be a challenge for me but I'm reminding myself it won't kill me to step out of my comfort zone.

Onto the question prompts!

Why did you pick this outfit?  How is it still Gyaru?

I picked this outfit as a tribute to the last official day of Summer!  Summer 2019 was dubbed "hot girl summer" which is the epitome of the bold and sexy Gyaru attitude.

For this look I selected aspects associated with Kurogyaru and tsuyome styles.  To me, this coordinate is the embodiment of that " be wild, get sexy" movement.  I'll be honest this look made me feel fabulous.  Probably the sexiest I've ever felt in Gyaru.

This shoot also made me realize how much I miss doing sassier / tougher looks like kurogyaru.  The "bad girl" attitude comes with the outfit (lol).  And in this outfit, like Lizzo said, I'm 100% THAT b*tch! ( ‾́ ◡ ‾́ )

What are your favorite parts?

Mighty typical of me to say, but my favorite parts are the details within the outfit.  I don't know why but I'm a sucker for extra detail.  I love the fleur de lis detailing on the pockets!  I also love the addition of a foxtail and the print on the tube top.
Those details like fleur de lis, foxtails, flashy animal print and rhinestones are like trademark characteristics, or rather elements of  Kurogyaru.  While these details aren't 100% necessary, they definitely add that extra spark to coordinates.

How did you obtain some of the items?

Almost everything was purchased out of a department store.  The top is an old Baby Phat shirt I snagged from my mom.  She bought this ages ago and had denim capri pants to match!  The shorts I'm wearing were originally House of Deréon  jeans that I cut myself.  Some of you may remember years ago I made this a diy project on my blog.  These were my mom's old jeans that I snipped and added distressed details to.  The shoe are from H&M.  This coord is majority non Japanese brand, however the belt is d.i.a; and lastly the fox tail is from eBay.

How does this outfit transition into seasons so it could be worn differently?

The easiest alternative is to throw on a puffer jacket or a warm velour jacket for colder weather.  But if you're a wuss like me, you will want to wear something warmer than a tube top in the winter.  You could replace the tube top with a long sleeve keyhole top to keep that "sexy" vibe to the outfit.  Ripped jeans are also an alternative to the shorts.  Lastly, the open toed shoes can be swapped out for ankle boots or even over the knee boots!

I just had a thought, would anyone be interested in something like that?  What if I were to do "season transition" posts featuring older coordinates where I show how to wear these outfits in different ways?  Would that be something you guys would like to see on my blog?  Please let me know in the comments!

Do y'all know what else I've been holding onto and dying to post for you all?  The makeup shots of this very look!  I am EXTREMELY happy with how it turned out.  I haven't been this satisfied with my makeup in a very long time.

I took a bunch of selfies, that's how you know I was happy with how I looked (lol).  I had to narrow down just how many I would spam you all with!  The inspiration for this makeup look was from gaijin gal Motoko Mori!  I'm obsessed with her colorful makeup looks!  I hope to branch out even more with color like she does.  As well as her eyeliner skills, omg they are to die for!

Even though I'm not at her level of makeup just yet, I do feel like this was a great first try.  I'm proud of this look and hope that my makeup gets even better from here.

I think this was also my first time using these lenses.  The color is so striking to me but not in a bad or scary way.  These are the Lil Moon Water Water lenses!

As far as makeup goes, I want to say I used the Box of Crayons palette from The Crayon Case, Modern Renaissance from ABH, and a liquid glitter eyeshadow from Milani.  I also got to sport the Diamond Lashes in the style "sweet eye"!  Let us pray, "may my makeup slay, lashes stay, and eyeliner be sharp enough to kill a man".

So how are you guys liking these lookbook posts?  I hope you enjoyed this one, a lot more content versus the first one.  Please look forward to my next one!  Thank you for your support!!
