♡Sushi Fest in New Orleans♡

Today Nhu took me to Sushi Fest !  We had tons of fun, ate great food and I can't wait until next year to go again!

There were two parts to the festival, upstairs were the concession stands/food vendors; the different stands were different local Japanese restaurants, sushi and hibachi spots. 

Downstairs in the arena area was the entertainment and merchandise.

Besides eating, there was a live band, I didn't know them but my friend Dom knew of them! There was other entertainment like dancers and a stilts performer!  Some other companies had tables set up to sell merch like Kawaii Nola! (if you remember that post I did ages ago lmao)

What everyone really anticipated was the raffle drawing on the trip to Japan; Nhu bought 5 raffle tickets but still didn't win

she didn't expect to but still . . . we were sad for a few seconds lol

And here's the lady on stilts! She saw me taking a picture of her and decided to strike a pose! (this was so cute ^^)

I had to visit Kawaii Nola's booth and I wanted to cry everything was so cute! I didn't get to take a picture of the clothing they had ;;

aagggg I want a bento box but Nhu said "you don't cook what's the point" so I felt discouraged but tbh I didn't reeeaally need it so~

I've wanted sushi socks for so long but I passed on them ( I slightly regret this)

Nhu wanted the totoro with the no-face mask but she didn't get it either

But here's what I did get!

Now onto the food

The first roll we tried was the "Black & Gold roll"!

• shrimp tempura, cucumber, kani, baked with spicy mayo, crawfish and scallions, Tsunami & tsurai sauces

This one was one of my faves! I love crawfish and any sushi with spicy mayo is great to me!

Next was the "Bonsai BBQ Pulled Pork"

I don't remember what everything is on top but it was also good!

I do remember that it was marinated in sake though

 We spotted a table that had a lot of food but the line was entirely too long !  I wanted to try the "Herro Kitty Bento Box"

( that was literally the name they had on the banner) but we sneaked a picture of it!

the festival was from 2 to 5pm and we stayed the entire time, so around 4:30pm there were no lines and the booths were knocking the prices down so we went back to this booth.  They had plenty Herro Kitty boxes left but I changed my mind and Nhu wanted to try the Pikachu Roll but they were sold out :((( however she was able to try their Honda Roll

Then we tried a "Crawfish and Seaweed Salad"

It was really good!  I questioned why was it cold but then I remembered it was a salad, it's supposed to be served cold lol

After that, we tried "Crab Meat Ravioli"

holy shit this was so good ( like , the bomb dot com good)

I wanted a second bowl but I was down for the count and full as hell

Nhu bought the "Cajun Sun Roll"

It had raw tuna on the top so I had to pass on it

And lastly we had dessert!  Cake balls!!!

• the yellow is "green tea", the orange is "sriracha" and the blue is "red bean"

The red bean and green tea were so good !  I let Nhu have the sriracha because I was too afraid to try it lol  she said you couldn't taste it really but I think she was trying to trick me !

I wish I would have tried more sushi but I was so full after the ravioli and cake I couldn't even think about eating again .   But I'm glad I got to try all of this yummy food!
