Life Just Got More Sparkly ‧₊˚✩彡

Hello Cuties~!

With this post, I will finally be back on track!  And oh how I've been waiting for this post.  April 2nd was my six year anniversary with my beloved Prince Charming.  And I'll be honest, I struggled with the idea of a traditional physical gift.  So instead I booked us an experience; a cooking class!

Even though we'd be cooking, I still wanted to look cute!

FINALLY!  Finally used that Morphe 35A palette.  And I put it to good use too!  The multitude of green shades were perfect with my dress.  I even used one of the coral shades as a blush!  This palette is going to change my mind about the color green.  Like, I'm living for the shimmery green shades; they're chef's kiss. ( ¯ ³¯)♡

not drunk, just squinting lmfaoo

I have no good pictures showcasing the lid colors.  So here's one I took at the end of the day; the thought didn't cross my mind to take an up-close pic until then.

He told me I looked gorgeous, I turned shy.  He said "give us a twirl" and I was more than happy to oblige~

Okay onto our cooking adventure!

I booked our class with the Mardi Gras School of Cooking.  And we had the pleasure of learning from Chef Raymond, three Creole dishes.  Corn & crab Bisque, Shrimp Creole, and Pecan Pralines.  The class seems to be mostly for tourists but neither of us know how to cook.  So it's important I learn some of my favorite New Orleans dishes.  (I'll learn some from my mom too, but she doesn't know all the dishes.)

The class was extremely informative and fun!  It was a class of five, we were awkward at first but we got comfortable soon enough.  The set up was pretty cool.  Each of us had a cooking station to follow Chef Raymond's instructions.

We prepped our veggies and our proteins.  And everything was combined together to make each dish.

Cooking the shrimp was fine, de-veining and cleaning the shrimp was the hard part (lol).

An action shot of Chef Raymond dishing up our bisque.

We all got to sit down to enjoy our food courses.  I had a glass of wine~  It was really nice to sit back and enjoy our efforts.

(ʃƪ ˘ ³˘)♥(˘ ε˘ʃƪ)

The Corn & Crab Bisque was creamy and delicious~

The Shrimp Creole was delectable!  Such a soothing, nostalgic meal.  I haven't had it in years and it tastes exactly as I remembered it.   And for dessert, he prepared pralines as we ate dinner.  I'm sure you all know the importance of getting to lick the spoon when making sweets.  Chef gave Prince and I the spoon~        ( ∩´͈ ᐜ `͈∩)

These candies are super sweet so I can only eat one of them at a time, but MAN was it good!  After dessert, class was dismissed.  But Prince had one trick up his sleeve before everyone left.  Last thing I remember him asking was "are you ready for your surprise?"  And that's when I saw the little black box in his hand.  Before I knew it, he was on one knee and I. Just. Cried.  (╥ᆺ╥;)♡  I think everyone had their phones out but one classmate turned into a full on photographer (lol).  I mean she caught the moment from every angle in the room!  And she sent them to us to have.  She mentioned throughout the class that recording memories are important.  And even though I understood that, it's insane how right she was.

Ami and her tear stained face  |´͈ω`∩)  But I wasn't the only one!  Chef admitted he teared up too. ♡

The walk back to the car was a mushy as you would imagine.  We couldn't stop smiling at each other . . .  I couldn't stop stealing glances at my ring . . . swinging our conjoined hands.  We've been on cloud nine since that day~

The ring is everything I've ever wanted.  The pear shape, the gold band, the hidden stones underneath~  And now it's time to plan the wedding I've always wanted!

Thank you for reading!
xoxo, Amiman

    1. ( ∩´ ᐜ `∩)♡ I truly mean it when I say, it happens when you least expect it. Or when you stop looking. When I met Prince, I was in a place where I was completely content with friendships. I guess the universe had other plans

And you should definitely try out cooking class, it's fun! It's rewarding to eat the things you made yourself. Especially if it's something you wouldn't be able to make on your own. Thank you so much for wishing us well and for reading~

  2. OH MY GOODNESS CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
I was really enjoying reading about the cooking class (I've only done one on cakes with a friend) and then the ending was a surprise and I can't stop smiling for you!
Your classmate is correct in that capturing memories is important!
Will you be making those dishes you learned again? You can get shrimp pre-cleaned and deveined to make that part easier :3
Or include those dishes in the wedding dinner <_<; hahaha! So excited for you!
