Today, Beverly Hills, Tomorrow? THE WORLD! | LA Trip Day #3

Hello Cuties~  Happy October 1st!

I'm still getting the 1st video together guys.  I'm sorry it's taking so long~  But for now here's day #3 of LA!  Originally we didn't have anything planned for our 3rd day, but I have some family out in California and luckily they weren't too far from Pasadena.  So my uncle took us out for the day.
He planned for us to do lunch at a dim sum spot.  What I didn't expect was for it to be located within a mall; and not just any mall, a HUGE one!  We ended up at Westfield Santa Anita.  Listen y'all, the mall's map was ridiculous.  This mall is next level, I've never seen anything like this at home lol  There's a Dave & Busters INSIDE the mall for God's sake!!  I also noticed on the map there was a Hello Kitty Cafe but sadly I didn't get to see it. 。・+゚゚(うд´。)゚゚+・。  But back to lunch lol.  The restaurant he took us to was Din Tai Fung.
I was pretty eager to try some more new and authentic food.  A taste of Taiwan as they say.  My uncle's girlfriend told us this place was really good and I could tell by the sheer amount of people it drew in.  We had to put our names on a wait list of an hour!  So I thought to myself, this place must be great! lol  Since we had time to kill, Nhu and I walked around the mall for a little bit.  Buuut I was starving so I decided to just get some fries and suddenly ended up in the 1950's.
Johnny Rockets is such a cute and retro place!  Why don't we have one in New Orleans?!  The decor is just too precious.  The staff were sweet too, I think they could tell we weren't from Cali lol.
The waiter drew a smiley face with ketchup, random but adorable especially because I wasn't feeling too well that day.  It may have been a small gesture but it brought a smile to my face immediately.
By the time I finished my fries and Nhu finished her tots, my uncle called my phone and told us to come back to the restaurant.  I felt guilty but I had to get something in my tummy lol but we ended up waiting for like another 40 minutes.  While we waited we noticed a spot near the hostess where you can watch them making dumplings!
As you can imagine, this made everyone hungry just watching them make food lol.  Eventually we were called and given a sheet to mark down our food choices.  Earlier we had a take home menu so we already knew what we all wanted to eat.  Now I wish I could remember what everything was called but I'm sorry I've forgotten!

After turning in our sheet we were seated and soon enough, our food started coming to our table!
I couldn't wait to dive into this one!  These were the traditional dumplings.  The broth inside the dumplings?  Freakin' delicious, best invention, I died and went to heaven!
I think these were chicken and vegetable . . . anyways, delicious as well!
Wasn't expecting to like this dish because I don't care for porkchops, but this porkchop rice was amazing.  The meat was actually soft and not tough like porkchops I'm used to.  Somehow it felt light to eat.
Can't even recall it's name but there's a shrimp at the top!  By this point I was getting very full but I still ate it! lmao
I remember this having chili in the name, but it wasn't as spicy as I anticipated.  It was like a sweet heat, which I love.  I thoroughly enjoyed lunch!  I wish I could go back to this place right now~
I truly was stuffed after all of that food but there was just one thing on the mall map that I could not pass up!  Japanese cheesecake!!!! Y'all, I could've had an aneurysm from how excited I was.  There was a long line but that didn't discourage me in the slightest!  I was in it for the long run, I wanted that jiggly soft cheesecake dude.
Now the only mistake I made was not at least tasting it while it was fresh out of the oven. 。゚(゚∩´﹏`∩゚)゚。  It was so warm and smelled so good, but I brought it to the hotel and put it in our mini fridge for later.  It was still pretty good cold though.
I wasn't expecting my uncle to keep us but he surprised us by driving us through Beverly Hills and to browse around Rodeo Drive!
Ah~  It was just so beautiful out there!  The buildings are what caught my attention most.  Not just because of what stores they were, but rather the structure and view of it all was lovely.  can you see my strength withering away in that picture? lol  Also please excuse the quality of some of these pictures.  I tried my best to clear it up but you know what happens when you share images between an android and an iphone lol.
 Versace~
I found myself sort of daydreaming while walking around this area.  I imagined what it would be like if Amiman were rich, retired at the age of 30 and came to shop with her husband . . . lmao
While on Rodeo Drive we gave my other uncle a visit!  He works in a clothing store called Etro.  It's a very high fashion, straight from the runway type of style.  He told me it's a brand from Italy.  These were my favorite mannequin setup in the store.  I love the bold colors and patterns in their pieces!
peep the via rodeo street sign~ I thought it would make for a cute picture lol
My favorite shot of the day~  My uncle randomly told me pose in front of this one!  I thought it would be funny to mimic the mannequin. (ノ^∇^)  My Liz Lisa dress fits in well with the area, no?
After strolling around expensive shops we pretty beat but my uncle had one more surprise for us.  He took us to the Santa Monica Pier!  I wish I could've enjoyed it more but by then I had completely deteriorated and had the worst migraine.  I wanted funnel cake and all the sweets in the world and maybe play a few arcade games but my stupid body ruined it.  We walked around for a bit and ate before leaving but getting to see the beach was nice!  The brisk breeze coming off the waters is something I don't feel often at home so I miss it.

Overall I had fun and I'm so thankful for my family.  I'm glad I got to see some of them and spend time with them.  Since we live kind of far apart, we haven't seen each other in years.  I hope to visit them soon again!  I want to do a part two of Amiman Takes on Rodeo Drive when I'm healthy and well!

Until next time!
~ Love you! x Amiman ~
