The Power of Circle Lenses!

Hello Cuties~

We all know in the world of Gyaru, makeup is very important to the transformation.  But another useful aspect would be circle lenses!  In the latest Papillon magazine, models were asked to showcase their makeup with and without lenses.  It's a common visual in Gyaru magazines, so here are some examples!

These are the same models!  In the last portion, you can see a very nice comparison.  Dramatic difference, yes?  And my absolute favorite visual is the "split face", where they display the transformation on one side of the face.  I like to call it the "Mulan" (lol).

Like, look at that!  The illusions that can be created using makeup and tools like contacts are honestly fascinating.  Transforming is half the fun to me!  (Or "shape-shifting" like they say on tiktok lol)

But anyway, back to what I planned to share with you all today!  I was a part of the circle lens spread in Vol.3.

Here I'm pictured wearing Dodo Brown from TTDEYE.  Great lenses to exhibit how to alter dark eyes.  Perhaps I should compile a list of "dark eye friendly" lenses someday?  First, let's see my transformation!

【Lens In】
Bold & Beautiful~

Now let's take a closer look!
What do you think?  Do you prefer wearing lenses or going without them?  I give props to the gals that go lens-less; it takes a lot more skill when it comes to your makeup in my opinion.  This is why I'm still (struggling) learning to create lens-less makeup looks (lolll).

Let's talk make!  Even though the lenses were the main focus for Papillon, I couldn't help but have a little fun creating this makeup look.

The pop of color is EVERYTHING!  I forgot how much I loved this makeup look~  This was definitely during my orange phase.  I was obsessed with orange eye looks and finally gave my Colourpop palette some proper love.

And this wouldn't be complete without a code!

I promise I wasn't hiding a pregnancy here, just billowing fabric ( `ε´ ") lol.  I took these in spring when I was desperate for bright, warm, carefree summer vibes.  I felt the vibes were perfect with Noy's (correct me if I'm wrong) instagram filter.  It's the cutest mock egg template!

Returning to the topic of this post, I would like to point out and reiterate Papillon team's message.  "Circle lenses aren't 100% obligatory in gyaru makeup but they will certainly give your sexy or cute looks a boost!  Always buy circle lenses from reputable sellers!"

I've purchased lenses in the past from Pinky Paradise, Pinkicon, and TTDEYE.  Currently my favorite shop is Loook!  I've published a few blogposts about them before, but mostly from when they were a part of Rakuten.  They have their own website and ship directly from Japan to overseas.  Seeing how they're my main source now-a-days I should made a dedicated post to Loook.  *hint hint*

As always, thank you so much for reading!

Makeup Tips & Hacks You've Learned

Hello Cuties~

Today's post is a useful one, "makeup tips & hacks you've learned"!

I can't even remember where I heard or saw this trick, but it's helped me tremendously.  When applying eyelashes, I now use two layers.  Let the first layer dry completely, and let the second layer get "tacky" or "sticky" before finally applying.  The person explained it in a way I related to a lot.  They mentioned how older lashes tend to stick better versus brand new lashes.  It's usually because there's a layer of old glue that's left behind anyway (gross I know but admit it, you've reused some lashes that weren't cleaned beforehand. . . )  We do want to clean our lashes though; even if that means just peeling off the old glue.  We don't want too much glue caked onto the lash strip.

Another tip I've found that works for me is using an adhesive eyeliner.  The eyeliner glue in combination with the two layers of actual eyelash glue keeps my lashes in place ALL day.  It may seem like a lot to do or a lot of glue on your eyes, but as long as you take the time to properly remove your falsies, everything is good.

Speaking of removing lashes, a good tip is to use liquid makeup remover on a Q-tip.  Saturate the Q-tip and run it over the lash band on your eye until it loosens up all the glue.  And your falsies should slide off like butter!

Perhaps most people already know this, but use oil based products to remove lip products; especially liquid matte and lip stains.

The final step to your makeup is setting spray.  I then like to use a beauty blender to blot (lightly pat) areas I used setting powder.  It doesn't happen often, but some sprays and powders behave strangely together.  The set powder can become "spotted".  You can see where the droplets of setting spray have dried.  By using a beauty blender, you prevent this and give the face a flawless dry-down.

I hope you enjoyed this post!  Let me know if you use any of these tips and how they work out for you.

Makeup Survival Kit

Hello Cuties~

Hope everyone is well~  I wanted to do another blog challenge entry today~  This one actually touches on something I talked about in my "What's in my Bag" post.  The good 'ol makeup survival kit.  In that previous post, my makeup bag doesn't really represent what all I wish I could carry everyday.  Here's what I wish I could carry every time I leave the house in makeup.

𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓑𝓪𝓼𝓲𝓬𝓼
things you shouldn't be caught without

Eyelash glue!  I can't even count the amount of times I go to check on my makeup and the corner of my falsies are lifting.  (҂ `з´ )  (it has become less of a problem recently, but I still never leave the house without it!)
It's been a go-to for years and the term "powder room" is for good reason.  Keep a setting powder on hand!  Translucent is best since it'll just reduce the shine from your skin without altering the color of your base.  *Preferably carry one with a powder puff! (Unless you feel like bringing a brush with you.)

𝓽𝓸𝓾𝓬𝓱-𝓾𝓹𝓼
things you might want to have to fix your base make
Concealer!  You never know what could happen.  Maybe you went too hard at lunch and rubbed the makeup around your mouth?  Better safe than sorry.
Eyeliner!  Again, you never know what could happen!  You might forget you're wearing makeup and smudge everything by rubbing your eyes.  Or maybe you're like me and ran out of time to fully do your makeup at home, so you're doing it on the go.
Lipstick and lip gloss, honestly this could also be a "basic" need.  It's common to have to reapply these throughout the day.

𝓽𝓸𝓸𝓵𝓼
you get the idea (lol)
Tweezers!  Perfect for helping you reapply those pesky falsies.  (Or what ever tool you may use for applying them.)
Powder puffs incase the setting powder you're carrying doesn't come with one.  This will help you blot any excess oils from your face.
Compact mirror or a hand mirror, whatever floats your boat~  But we need to be able to check on our makeup at any given time! (I constantly lose mine hehe. . . )

𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓰𝓲𝓻𝓵𝓼 𝓽𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓰𝓮𝓽 𝓲𝓽. . .
items you didn't know you needed
Blotting papers!  Sometimes the struggle is real and you want to use these alongside setting powder to remove oils.
Fans!!!  Cannot stress this enough, being from the south, it's always a good idea to carry one.

Eyedrops!  Wearing circle lenses for hours can be hard on the eyes.  Your eyes will sing praises the minute you use these (lol).

I know . . . I'm crazy.  But I don't think carrying around a spare pair of circle lenses is a bad idea.
Might as well throw in a contact case and travel solution to top everything off!

That's it, that's my makeup survival kit!  If I had the perfect makeup bag and purse to hold all of this, I'd be the happiest (and most prepared) Gal ever!  Now this is just what I think.  So, what would be in your makeup survival kit?
