Yee Haw! 🤠 (Kuro-Ami Returns)

Hello Cuties!

How's your Spring season going?  It feels so warm here it might as well be Summer!  Since quarantine started I've been scrolling through social media getting inspired by all the makeup looks I see.  I've been indoors dreaming of being on the beach and having fun with all the other gaijin gals~ .  So I decided to get off my butt and do something (for once)!
(๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ

People, including myself, are getting stir crazy and just want to skip to Summer already!  To quell my desires I threw together a kurogyaru look!

*-: ✧ :-☆╮RUNDOWN╰☆ -: ✧ :-*

hat - Daiso
skirt set - Blanco
belt - d.i.a
accessories - offbrand / ebay

I've been told I should do more kurogyaru looks and I agree.  I felt fantastic in this get-up!  No one can tell me Gyaru isn't good for the soul (lmao).  I filmed a few tiktoks, had a mini indoor shoot, and even video chatted with Prince.  He loved this look too ♥~

I think I outdid myself guys!  *chef's kiss*

As far as makeup goes, it was definitely a change from my usual style.  I would give myself a B as a grade (lol).  I tend to complain about my makeup looking the same, so Prince pushes me to try different colors.  This time I went for a mint color scheme!

I also tried very hard to do a bold makeup style.  I attempted a high cut (?)  I don't know what to call it right now.  Typically I struggle with complex eyeshadow looks because of the many folds in my eyelid.  I would say that I have hooded eyes to some extent.  If I place things like glitter liner on my lid, I have to go much higher than most people because if not, it hides within my creases.

I also took a few tips from Chris' youtube video (link).  Since I struggle with creating gyaru eyeshapes, I took her tips on where to place eyeliner.  It made the bottom lashes a lot easier to apply.  I tend to cover up my shape work with my falsies, so rather than obstructing the view, the false lashes help continue the shape I started.

Notice a change in my nose contour?  I tried my best to nail it!  How do you think I did this time?

Last thing I ended up doing that day was create my own purikura!  I'm so jealous of other gals who have them in their city.  The first time I got to use one was in Los Angeles back in 2018.  But it's pretty fun creating your own!

Had a blast decorating these!  If y'all are interested, I can make a post about the apps I use and my favorite features on them!

I do hope that everyone is doing okay.  I know we're eager to go outside but, let's all stay safe!

Papillon Lookbook: 002

Hello Cuties~

I came back to blogger to quite a pleasant surprise!  People must have been eager for Papillon's release because I gained a great deal of traffic / views on my "Proud to be a Papillon Gal" post.  I was truly stunned to see such a number.  I wanted to thank all who gave my post a read and all who viewed the first issue of Papillon magazine!
( ´ ▽ ` ).。o♡

Emotions tangent aside, I'm giddy to share my second lookbook post with you!  I've been holding onto this one for a while now.  (well not as long as the first look but still. . . )  The second look I did for Papillon was my "Ode to hot-girl Summer".  (lol)

I was pretty pleased with how this coordinate turned out!  When the idea came to me, I couldn't wait to take pictures.  I had been wrecking my brain on what my next look would be.  I definitely wanted something different from my Himekaji look.

It's been a while since you have seen me in something like Kurogyaru, for sure!  Plus, in the past I've tried to think of ways in incorporate this super cute tube top.  FINALLY I got the chance.

Location wasn't different from the previous post, but as I mentioned I will change that for the future Papillon issue.  Please anticipate it!  I hope to make you all proud.  I know it's going to be a challenge for me but I'm reminding myself it won't kill me to step out of my comfort zone.

Onto the question prompts!

Why did you pick this outfit?  How is it still Gyaru?

I picked this outfit as a tribute to the last official day of Summer!  Summer 2019 was dubbed "hot girl summer" which is the epitome of the bold and sexy Gyaru attitude.

For this look I selected aspects associated with Kurogyaru and tsuyome styles.  To me, this coordinate is the embodiment of that " be wild, get sexy" movement.  I'll be honest this look made me feel fabulous.  Probably the sexiest I've ever felt in Gyaru.
(⁄ ⁄>⁄ ▽ ⁄<⁄ ⁄)

This shoot also made me realize how much I miss doing sassier / tougher looks like kurogyaru.  The "bad girl" attitude comes with the outfit (lol).  And in this outfit, like Lizzo said, I'm 100% THAT b*tch! ( ‾́ ◡ ‾́ )

What are your favorite parts?

Mighty typical of me to say, but my favorite parts are the details within the outfit.  I don't know why but I'm a sucker for extra detail.  I love the fleur de lis detailing on the pockets!  I also love the addition of a foxtail and the print on the tube top.
Those details like fleur de lis, foxtails, flashy animal print and rhinestones are like trademark characteristics, or rather elements of  Kurogyaru.  While these details aren't 100% necessary, they definitely add that extra spark to coordinates.

How did you obtain some of the items?

Almost everything was purchased out of a department store.  The top is an old Baby Phat shirt I snagged from my mom.  She bought this ages ago and had denim capri pants to match!  The shorts I'm wearing were originally House of Deréon  jeans that I cut myself.  Some of you may remember years ago I made this a diy project on my blog.  These were my mom's old jeans that I snipped and added distressed details to.  The shoe are from H&M.  This coord is majority non Japanese brand, however the belt is d.i.a; and lastly the fox tail is from eBay.

How does this outfit transition into seasons so it could be worn differently?

The easiest alternative is to throw on a puffer jacket or a warm velour jacket for colder weather.  But if you're a wuss like me, you will want to wear something warmer than a tube top in the winter.  You could replace the tube top with a long sleeve keyhole top to keep that "sexy" vibe to the outfit.  Ripped jeans are also an alternative to the shorts.  Lastly, the open toed shoes can be swapped out for ankle boots or even over the knee boots!

I just had a thought, would anyone be interested in something like that?  What if I were to do "season transition" posts featuring older coordinates where I show how to wear these outfits in different ways?  Would that be something you guys would like to see on my blog?  Please let me know in the comments!

Do y'all know what else I've been holding onto and dying to post for you all?  The makeup shots of this very look!  I am EXTREMELY happy with how it turned out.  I haven't been this satisfied with my makeup in a very long time.

I took a bunch of selfies, that's how you know I was happy with how I looked (lol).  I had to narrow down just how many I would spam you all with!  The inspiration for this makeup look was from gaijin gal Motoko Mori!  I'm obsessed with her colorful makeup looks!  I hope to branch out even more with color like she does.  As well as her eyeliner skills, omg they are to die for!

Even though I'm not at her level of makeup just yet, I do feel like this was a great first try.  I'm proud of this look and hope that my makeup gets even better from here.

I think this was also my first time using these lenses.  The color is so striking to me but not in a bad or scary way.  These are the Lil Moon Water Water lenses! ♥

As far as makeup goes, I want to say I used the Box of Crayons palette from The Crayon Case, Modern Renaissance from ABH, and a liquid glitter eyeshadow from Milani.  I also got to sport the Diamond Lashes in the style "sweet eye"!  Let us pray, "may my makeup slay, lashes stay, and eyeliner be sharp enough to kill a man".
(っ˘ω˘ς )

So how are you guys liking these lookbook posts?  I hope you enjoyed this one, a lot more content versus the first one.  Please look forward to my next one!  Thank you for your support!!

Failed vlog (but hey I got a make look out of it)

Hello cuties!  Good and meh news:  I failed at vlogging earlier this week, however I got a cool coordinate and makeup look out of it!

Sarah and I finally reunited for our girls day out!  We had many plans for the day and I planned to vlog about our adventure.  She planned to do the same, but we both just couldn't get it together lol.  As for my look, I initially went with kurogyaru style, but now that I look at it, perhaps it's more oraora?  I had my "pins and patches" jacket on too but I left it in car by the time I took these pics.

I tried something a little different with my makeup this time!  Well when it comes to color palette.  I've never tried using orange and green so I came up with this look.  Of course I added some orange sparkle under my eyes~.
What do you think?  I think up-close it's a mess but overall it's pretty nice.

Per usual, our first stop is food.  I wanted to visit a place I'd never been to, so we agreed to try Voodoo BBQ.

Next comes shopping~  I wanted to go thrifting for all my diy needs.  Funny thing is I got 2 pieces for diy, everything else was simply too cute to pass up.
I snagged this stylish denim jumpsuit for $6.99!  When I stepped out to show Sarah, everyone said "omg you should buy it!"
An oversized dusty pink sweater (with ruffles yay~) also $6.99.  Not exactly sure how I want to use this but perhaps larme and maybe himekaji.
I got this turtleneck with the intent to make it cropped.  I'm adding more colors to my closet and I think once I alter it, I'll use it for kuro coords.  I'm still looking for nice sweaters to diy a d.i.a style cropped sweater.  Like this:
I'm in love with this skirt~  It's suede and pink, and it's from the brand BeBe.  I still can't believe I got this for $3.99!

My other plans for that day were to check out about 3 thrift shops as well as check out some fabric / craft stores.  I reeeeally want a new set up for filming and I want to start with a backdrop.  However life wouldn't let me be great so we couldn't get much accomplished.  Regardless I had fun catching up with Sarah~  We'll try again soon!  Our first vlog was just so fun I want to do another one with her.

In totally unrelated news, last week Prince and I celebrated our anniversary!  I still can't believe how much time has passed.
We had a great time together.  I was just happy to spend the day with him.  It's funny because right now I can't remember everything we did, but I remember every sweet thing he said.  We were being pretty cheesy when we exchanged gifts lol
The matching rings are from Valentine's day, but I'll probably share my anniversary gifts later; some of them have yet to arrive from Japan.
Oh and I got my nails done!

~ pink and glittery ~

And that brings us to now.  I haven't been up to much besides going out to eat and online shopping to be honest. ヾ(´▽`;)ゝlol
This was even better than the last skillet cookie lol
I just enjoy sharing food pictures with y'all lol  I hope that isn't too annoying (๑꒪▿꒪).

Easter is coming up and while I don't have anything planned, I hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather.  Spring is finally in full effect where I am, or shall I say Summer lol.  It feels pretty nice, I miss the warm sun rays and gentle breeze.

I have a good feeling about the near future!  I appreciate your patience with me.  Please anticipate great and fun things!
