I thought why not do a "traditional" blog entry today. I'm still using the blog challenge I found months before as reference. Today's entry will be "five items under five dollars".
Personally I believe there are some aspects of makeup that you should go cheap on. I understand splurging on things like foundation or setting sprays, but these are a few items I think people should switch to.
Ruby Kisses Forever Matte lipstick
Usually no more than $2.99 in most beauty supply stores. (Currently $4 on amazon) There are 24 (?) lovely shades. I gave this lipstick line a chance years ago after I couldn't get my hands on Colourpop's "Limbo" lipstick. (Wasn't it discontinued for a while?) ANYWAY, I found it to be a nice dupe! So far I have 2 shades from Ruby Kisses and they perform the same as Colourpop's in my opinion. I will definitely buy more!
Cherry Blossom lashes
In every local beauty supply I visit, they're usually $1.99 or $2.99. On their site for $3.00. These are my go to eyelashes! I love the gradation in size and I'm just a sucker for spaced out / "spikey" lashes. They're extremely lightweight too considering how large they appear. (Actually . . . don't switch to these, because I'll never be able to find them again ( ﾟ^∀^ﾟ))
NYX butter gloss
These are $5.00 and totally worth it! So many shades it's insane. (Just wish the "intense" line stayed around . . ) The sweet smell is intoxicating. They apply so smoothly. And you can usually find these in Ulta as well.
Just about everyone has heard of or seen these bad boys. They used to be about $2 - 3 some years ago . . . (￢_￢;) Now they are five dollars on the official website. If you're lucky you can find them in Ulta for $3.99! I'm still a fan of this product. There are SO many shades (30+) as well as color correctors. The application is one of my favorite things about this concealer, it helps tremendously with contouring my nose!
Essence Lash Princess liner
I have not gotten my hands on this yet! But! I've heard good things AND it's always sold out. So that means it's got to be good, right? This eyeliner pen comes in 2 colors and in a waterproof variation. It's $4.99 and can be found at Ulta (I haven't seen it in cvs yet . . . ). I don't care what you say, eyeliner is eyeliner; pens will dry out, so you might as well buy them cheap! (the speed at which my KVD liner dried out almost drove me to kill xD)
